The first photo was taken just a few minutes after the impact. The sports utility vehicle (SUV) still has a dark black-green coat of paint.
The second photo is taken a few minutes later. The section of the Pentagon directly impacted by the aircraft, has not yet collapsed. Admittedly, it is difficult to see what condition the vehicle is in, but it still seems to be dark in color. An enlargement of the lower right corner of this photo is presented below.
The third photo is taken some minutes later again, but also before the collapse. The fire at the front of the Pentagon has been bought under control, but the interior of the building is still burning. The firemen have stopped spraying the building with foam. The vehicle still has its paint and it is covered with fire fighting foam.
The fourth photo is taken after the collapse. The vehicle is now a burnt out shell.
Of course, the oddity is: In the third photo the sports utility vehicle is still in great shape. The plastic indicator light covers are still clearly visible, and the tires seem barely touched by the fire. In fact, the vehicle is covered with fire fighting foam and the fire at the front of the building is barely flickering. A number of fire-trucks are present. Yet, the SUV manages to burst into flame and ends up a burnt out shell,.... truly, quite odd.

Here is another view of the burnt out shells.
And here is the promised enlargement of the lower right corner of the second photo.
Note the color of the tail lights. Once again, this shows that the vehicle survived the initial fire in relatively good condition. The tangled mass behind the vehicles and in front of the wall is actually tree branches (see below for a better photo of these).
Here is a photo that I discovered at amigaphil.planetinternet.be
Here is a shot of the SUV on fire.
It has been taken from this photo and enlarged.
This is of interest because, the Pentagon wall collapsed about 30 minutes after the plane stuck it. Yet here is the SUV burning furiously more than thirty minutes after the crash. How could this possibly be?
The following photo shows the vehicles after they have been moved (maybe to allow heavy machinery access). Also, note the wandering fire-truck, which is in three different locations in the following four pictures (compare its position to that of the left-hand tree and the door in the Pentagon).
And here is a shot, where the fire-truck seems to be in yet another location.
Remember, that two fireman were reported to have been polishing this fire-truck when the aircraft hit the Pentagon. The media reported that they were both on the side of the truck opposite the explosion and escaped unharmed. Note, how extremely close to the crash site (and center of the explosion) the fire-truck, and the firemen were (at least in this picture). Note also, that the green containers wander from their location in this picture to a point just to the left of the heliport control tower (and later to the other end of the heliport control tower) which suggests that this is the earliest of the pictures showing the fire-truck.
Another view of the fire-truck (above) and burnt out car (below).
