Ever wondered about the yellowish-brown dust being expelled from the vent in this photo?
Well the yellowish tinge is from the brown gas nitrogen dioxide. And where did the nitrogen dioxide come from. Well, nitrogen dioxide is formed when explosives are detonated (about 1.6 milligrams per gram of explosive). So the yellowish-brown dust is evidence that explosives were used to collapse the core columns (this most likely occurred at level of the foundations, about 70 feet below ground level). |
